Christians consider the “Ten Commandments” to be the basic law of life. They describe our obligations to God and our neighbors. They were announced at Mount Sinai and apply universally to all people - just not in India. As the experienced India expert knows, other rules apply there, for example the “Eleven Commandments for Business in India”. Personally received, experienced and written down by Werner Heesen, Head of “Personnel & Organization” at Dr. Wamser + Batra GmbH.

1. In India almost anything is possible. You just have to believe in it.
2. Nothing is “normal” in India. You just need to know.
3. You should always have a plan B (because in India it is more important than plan A).
4. It is almost impossible to actively shape developments. But you should still do it every day.
5. Human resource management in India means forgetting everything you know and starting completely anew.
6. Everyone wants justice and talks about solidarity. But you have to know: what is being practiced is pure egoism.
7. Everyone agrees on the time, but not on keeping appointments.
8. Truth means adapting facts flexibly to the situation.
9. You shall not resort to legal recourse.
10. You shouldn't believe everything. (Because it's easier to find 100 storytellers than one person you can trust.)
11. You shall exercise endurance and patience, endurance and patience, patience…patience…patience.

If you take these eleven dos and don'ts into account, you have a good chance of surviving (economically) in India - if you don't get eternal life.
