Indian customer buys crisis management for Germany
WB turnaround management® was once again commissioned by an Indian company to take over project management for a crisis management project.
The Indian group has been one of the global leaders in its industry for many years and already operates its own subsidiaries in the USA, Dubai, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria. In order to expand its market presence specifically in Germany, the company decided in 2010 to fully acquire the shares in a German medium-sized company.
Twisted “world”, same problems
What we know from India is also repeated in Europe: In the following years, however, the economic and strategic goals of the (new) German subsidiary were largely missed, and the Indian company was repeatedly forced to inject capital into the German subsidiary.
The Indian company therefore commissioned us to analyze the causes, identify and implement optimization options and improve the working atmosphere between the Indian headquarters and the German management of the subsidiary.
During an initial exploratory discussion between Thomas Brown, who was appointed as project manager by WB for this project, and the Indian shareholder, it quickly became clear how the Indian headquarters, together with the German management, should align their group structure. In addition to the location review, the entire process chain in the customer area as well as all internal structures are put to the test with regard to their profitability.
As a long-time auditor, managing director and CFO of medium-sized companies, Mr. Braun has specific expertise in the area of restructuring European companies. What is particularly valuable is that Mr. Braun also successfully closed problematic units without any loss of image for the parent company and in agreement with the workforce. Mr. Braun has been working for WB since 2013.
