India and Germany have had a strategic partnership since 2001. Today, fifteen years later, Germany is one of India's most important trading partners. The Federal Republic is now the fourth largest foreign direct investor and the second largest partner in terms of technological cooperation in India. But Indian investments in Germany have also increased remarkably in recent years to over 6 billion euros.

When the Consulate General of the Republic of India (CGI) in Frankfurt/Main launched the “India Business Forum” (IBF) in 2014, their goal was to further deepen strategic bilateral cooperation through a high-profile and exclusive network.

The IBF offers the most important entrepreneurs and business people from India or of Indian origin who are based in Germany a platform to discuss German-Indian economic issues, develop strategic business opportunities and trade and investment activities between India with important representatives of the German and Indian economy and politics and Germany to intensify.

As part of the “India Business Forum” (IBF), there have already been a number of events with high-ranking Indian government officials, such as central government ministers and representatives of Indian state governments. But high-ranking German guests are also actively involved in the India Business Forum, such as the Rhineland-Palatinate Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture, who will be present in November 2016 by Dr. Wamser + Batra GmbH led the delegation trip organized.
