Greetings from Bernd Mützelburg, former ambassador, on the publication of the WB Business Climate Index India:
The Dr. Over the last ten years, Wamser + Batra GmbH (WB) has established itself as one of the most competent German consulting companies for India. The sheer number of their satisfied and successful customers is impressive evidence of this.
But also this one WB Business Climate Index for India, the first of its kind, proves that the secret to WB's success is actually no secret anymore:
Bernd Mützelburg, former ambassador
Dr. Wamser + Batra does not work on the basis of hearsay; They do not rely on general sentiments, generalizations or the “hypes” particularly cultivated by the Indian media, such as that Indian growth is outpacing China's. They don't just rely on their intuition, even if it has been trained through decades of intensive study of India. No, they make a well-founded and meticulous effort to verify moods, assumptions and theses through thorough investigations and analyzes and - even more - to draw empirically proven, reliable conclusions and recommendations from them.
I also enjoyed learning from this study on the business climate, for example that German companies with a wholly owned subsidiary in India are much more optimistic about their chances on the Indian market than those without their own branch. The resulting weighing up of the advantages and disadvantages of having your own sales organization in India was an “eye opener” for me. The same applies to the critical questioning of the “manslaughter arguments”: “The Indian market is simply not ready for our products yet” or “We are too expensive and therefore cannot compete with our competitors”.
It is food for thought to note that German entrepreneurs now proceed more systematically and emphatically when it comes to intercultural preparation for India, whereas the Indian side tends to ignore this aspect in relation to Germany and thus imposes their way of thinking and behavior one-sidedly.
The WB Business Climate Index India is completed by references to further specialist articles on the individual topics.
All in all: a highly useful and readable study, also for “Old India Hands”, and a worthy birthday present from Dr. Wamser and Batra GmbH on the occasion of its 10th anniversary of the German-Indian business community.
