Despite increasing sales - four out of five companies are growing in India - only a few (16 percent) of the medium-sized companies surveyed were able to fully achieve or exceed their own sales targets in India this year.
Problems in the growth market
However, the fact that one in three companies in “boom country” India misses their own sales targets by more than half is deeply worrying and requires explanation. Possible reasons for this are discussed in the present study “WB Business Climate Index India” as well as the most important market obstacles and growth brakes.
Because although India has been in a state of flux since Modi took office “(Ease of) Doing Business”– Our companies in India complained that we were able to improve our ranking by 65 places and are now in the (good) midfield at 77th place Compliance & bureaucracy as their biggest problem, followed by their own competitiveness.
All results are presented in detail in the study, as well as their background as well as concrete and practice-oriented instructions for successful sales in India.
