WB will be the “Representative for India” on behalf of the Saxony Economic Development Company.
We are delighted to be acting as “Representative for India” for the Free State of Saxony on behalf of Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (WFS) and to seek and develop prospects for cooperation and economic development for Saxony as a business location and for the Saxon economy.
The WFS supports Saxon companies in developing new sales markets, attracting companies and strengthening the business location as well as existing and new value chains. The search for qualified specialists and workers plays an important role in the development of the Saxon economy.
We at WB will be expanding Saxony's economic relations with India in the future, particularly in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The focus is on strengthening the competitiveness of Saxon companies, supporting them in opening up new markets and attracting innovative companies to Saxony itself.
Saxony's focus on Tamil Nadu
India, currently the fastest growing economy, has also become an interesting market for Saxony - both for sales and for establishing and expanding cooperation and supply relationships. The Saxon-Indian exchange of goods underlines the importance, which has reached record levels in the last two years.
Tamil Nadu is the economic center of South India and is known for its advanced educational landscape and strong industrial presence. Both Saxony and Tamil Nadu have a focus on the automotive industry, mechanical and plant engineering, as well as hydrogen and microelectronics - parallels that enable synergy effects.
Individual support from WB
Our team in Germany and India supports Saxon companies by recruiting skilled workers and conducting market research, from establishing contact with Indian partners or customers to checking, from company formation to practical support, from strategic planning to the actual operational implementation of various projects. The WFS relies on delegation trips, trade fair participation, forums and targeted investor approaches, among other things.
Skilled workers for Saxony – an investment in the future
In the coming years, more people will leave the workforce in the Free State of Saxony than will enter the job market. Targeting skilled workers and employees as well as trainees from India for the Saxon job market makes a lot of strategic sense. The aim is to attract more skilled workers to Saxony and at the same time position the region as an attractive place to live and work so that the workers gained will remain with companies in the long term.
