FUNSKOOL Ltd. is a leading Indian toy manufacturer and retailer. The company, which was founded in Chennai in 1987, operates several production sites, manufactures and trades both self-developed games and licensed games from the brands Hasbro, Disney, Warner Bros., Lego, Tommy and Ravensburger.
“The 'scientific games/experiment kits' segment was still missing from our portfolio. “We were therefore looking for a leading European manufacturer whose products we could import and sell to India,” said John Baby, CEO of FUNSKOOL Ltd. “Since it was not possible for us from India to carefully analyze and address the European market, we commissioned WB to carry out this work for us.”
WB identified and selected the potential partners, approached them and conducted the relevant preliminary discussions/negotiations. At the end of this process there was a successful conclusion of the contract with the German company Franckh-Kosmos Verlags-GmbH & Co. KG, KOSMOS Verlag for short. KOSMOS experiment sets are just as well known as award-winning products, such as “Settlers of Catan” or “The Three ???”. FUNSKOOL is now the exclusive sales partner for the KOSMOS experiment sets and the board game “Catan” in India.
“With KOSMOS we were able to find our dream partner,” says Raghavan Jeswant, Vice-President at FUNKSOOL, who is responsible for working with foreign cooperation partners. “WB did an excellent job. The quality of the pre-selection and preliminary discussions was excellent. We reached an agreement with KOSMOS within just 1,5 days.”
