The leading manufacturer of band saw machines, MEBA Metall-Bandsägemaschinen GmbH from Westerheim in the Swabian Alb, opened a branch in the Indian market in April 2012. This was also associated with the official launch of our own sales and service activities in India through an office in the greater Delhi area - both accompanied and supported by Dr. Wamser + Batra GmbH from Bochum.
MEBA was one of the first companies to specialize exclusively in band saw machines since 1958 and is one of the world's leading manufacturers in the industry. Numerous awards underline MEBA's innovative strength and continuous contribution to significant developments in band saw machine technology. The product range with over 50 models ranges from semi-automatic to fully automatic machines for crafts, metal and steel construction, vehicle and mechanical engineering and heavy industry.
An initial market exploration trip with Dr. Wamser + Batra in 2011 demonstrated the potential available in India through many direct discussions in the market (with market participants such as sales representatives and customers as well as visits to production facilities and competitors). “Based on the knowledge gained from the market trip, it is now the right time for us to become increasingly involved on site in the long term and to position ourselves accordingly,” says Mark Diener, managing partner of MEBA. “We want to be where our customers will be in the future, and India will certainly be one of our growth regions.”
The India-focused consulting firm Dr. Wamser + Batra undertook the establishment of a local subsidiary for MEBA as well as the important personnel search for an Indian managing director and was significantly involved in the development of sales activities. “Dr. Wamser + Batra has proven itself to be a committed partner who also has a representative office close to us in the Stuttgart area.
