The company MKB Metallguss GmbH is one of the world market leaders for precision chill casting, especially copper parts. References include companies such as ABB, Bosch Rexroth, Schneider Electric and Siemens. The company has also operated a production site in India for many years. Now there was an important restructuring and capacity expansion, in which Dr. Wamser + Batra was commissioned to ensure the company's ability to deliver as interim manager.

As part of MKB's strategic realignment for South Asia, which particularly included expanding capacity, Dr. Wamser + Batra GmbH was commissioned to temporarily take over the management of the Indian activities for the period 2014 to 2016. Implementation plans for the planned capacity expansion – where, how, when, etc. – should be developed. Due to location restrictions, alternative locations and alternative models (such as collaboration with possible production partners, contract manufacturing, investments, relocation and sales) had to be examined for feasibility.

A particular focus was on maintaining the production capability of the location during the decision-making phase in order to be able to service existing supply contracts. It was therefore important to avoid unrest among the workforce or disputes with the unions, to develop social plans in the event of a possible relocation and to negotiate possible partnerships with contract manufacturers, etc.
