Zahoransky AG

A world market leader in brush technology that has remained true to its roots – a connection to its homeland and family consciousness – even as it has grown: this is how you can briefly describe Zahoransky AG, based in Todtnau in the southern Black Forest. The mechanical engineering company, founded in 1902, produces injection molding tools, automation solutions, packaging machines and production systems for toothbrushes and brushes. With the world market leader in the oral care brush industry as the largest corporate customer, every second toothbrush worldwide now comes from a machine that was developed and manufactured in the Black Forest.
Zahoransky can offer the customer not only the machines for making brushes, but also blister packaging machines for subsequently packaging the brushes, as well as injection molds for producing the brush bodies.
Even though Zahoransky's previous success story was written in the area of brush technology, the technology group has been making increasing efforts since 2010 to leverage its strengths in the packaging machine business. Here too, the internationally active full-service provider scores points with its versatile blister machines. The focus is on packaging for the electrical engineering, tools, cosmetics and hygiene products markets.
Ulrich Zahoransky, who has been running the family business in the third generation since 1988, has not lost sight of the core company values despite international growth: the high priority placed on training is reflected in a training quota of ten percent; A family working atmosphere and long periods of service show that Zahoransky's concept of achieving strong employee loyalty through various measures, including flexible working hours, is working.
With around 900 employees worldwide, 410 of whom work at the headquarters in Todtnau, the Zahoransky Group generated sales of 140 million euros last year. The company, which was global from the start and delivered to customers in North and South America as well as Asia before the First World War, now has 10 locations in 6 countries.
These include the Indian subsidiary Zahoransky Molds & Machines Pvt, founded in 2002. Ltd., which is based in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), southern India. With market entry came successes, but also challenges. In order to be able to address these in a targeted manner and to shorten the learning curve through a partner with the appropriate India expertise, the mechanical engineer turned to Dr. Wamser + Batra GmbH. Together, they developed step-by-step measures to further increase the performance of the Indian entity by analyzing and optimizing processes in organization and control, but also in areas such as warehousing and purchasing.

The project began with a seminar by Werner Heesen on the topic of “Leadership & Control in India” for all of Zahoransky’s managers in Germany.

The seminar was followed by on-site operations: through the practical insights that Bernd Meissner provided directly on site in the Zahoransky Molds & Machines Pvt. Ltd. won, he was able to gain a clear picture of the ongoing processes and identify the areas - especially in warehousing and purchasing - where there was still room for improvement.

The results of this process analysis also resulted in adjustments to existing job descriptions as well as the need for new hires, so that a new Managing Director for the “Machines” division was appointed in the next project phase. A plant manager and a sales manager were also hired, whom WB had successfully identified as part of a systematic personnel search.

Dr. Wamser + Batra is for Zahoransky Molds & Machines Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, a very good partner when it comes to recruiting suitable employees, their development towards modern international process thinking with lean structures and processes, as well as efficient internal training with digital support through e-learning. The agile and structured implementation of projects characterizes our good collaboration. We can look back on great mutual development from our long-term collaboration at the location in India. It's always fun to see how we stand out from others with good teamwork.
